About Watermark image

Watermark image stamps your name, a copyright line or a logo on one picture or a hundred, in the same place and the same size on each, and saves them as new files.

It is Watermark’s stamp, set the same way: text or a picture, one of nine positions or tiled across, at an angle and an opacity. The preview over the picture is the stamp as it will be saved.

Pictures come in every size, so the sizes here are relative. Each picture’s short side counts as 612 points — a letter page’s width — and the font size, the margin and the tile gaps are read against that. A 32-point line is the same share of a phone photo as of a thumbnail, and a batch of mixed sizes comes out looking alike.

A watermark puts people off; it does not stop them. One in a corner can be cropped off in a second, and even a tiled one can be painted out by someone patient. A tiled mark at low opacity across the middle is the hardest to remove and the most in the way of the picture.
