About PDF to Excel
PDF to Excel finds the tables in a PDF or an image and writes them out as an XLSX spreadsheet, joining tables that run across page breaks and keeping numbers as numbers.
Finding a table in a PDF means finding a grid that nobody wrote down: the rules, where they exist, and otherwise the columns of text that line up down the page. Tables that run over a page break are joined back together, so a two-page table arrives as one.
How the sheets are arranged is yours to choose. One sheet per table is the default and usually what you want. One sheet per page keeps the document’s own structure. Everything on one sheet is for a single table split across many pages, or for data you are about to sort anyway.
Numbers come across as numbers rather than as text, so sums work without cleaning the columns first. Scanned pages are read by recognition, which is exactly where a digit can be misread — check the totals.
