About Sign PDF

Sign PDF lets you draw, type or upload a signature once and then place it anywhere in a document, as many times as it needs. When you save, the signature is drawn into the page.

A signature is made once and placed as many times as the document needs. Draw it with a mouse, trackpad or finger; type it and pick a script, serif or sans face; or upload a photo of one signed on paper, whose background is keyed out so what lands on the page is the ink rather than a white rectangle over it.

Ink is a choice because a photographed signature is rarely the color it should be, and because black on a black-printed form disappears. Whatever you pick, the signature is embedded once and drawn at every placement, so ten signatures on a twelve-page contract cost the file one picture, not ten.

Placed signatures can still be moved, resized and deleted until you save. After saving they are part of the page’s contents rather than an annotation, which means no reader offers to drag them — but it also means they are not a cryptographic signature. If you need a document that proves who signed it and that nothing changed afterwards, that is a certificate-based signature and this is not it.
