About Fill PDF form
Fill PDF form types answers onto a PDF: into the form’s own fields when the document has them, and into text boxes you place yourself when it does not.
Two kinds of document arrive at this tool and it handles both. A real PDF form has fields the author defined, and typing into those writes the answers into the fields themselves, so the form stays a form. A form that is only a picture of a form — the usual case for anything scanned or exported from a design tool — has no fields at all, and there typing places a new text box wherever you click.
Each box carries its own typeface, size, weight and color, because forms rarely agree with themselves about what fits. Nine inks are offered, the same nine Sign stamps in, so an answer typed onto a page can match a signature placed on it; white is among them for typing into a dark box.
If the answers are final, run the result through Flatten. That draws the fields into the page so nothing can be retyped, which is what most people actually mean when they ask for a form that cannot be edited.
